THE COWBOYS
STARTING IN 2009, MALIBU COWBOY WAS INSPIRED AFTER FATHER AND SON DUO VON AND CHASE FREEMAN TOOK A TRIP TO A LOCAL MISSION.
AFTER TALKING WITH MEMBERS OF THE MISSION, THE TOPIC OF BARBECUE CAME UP. HERE, THE FATHER AND SON GOT TOLD THE LEGENDARY RECIPE USED FOR GENERATIONS ON THE WEST COAST.
THE SAUCE FIRST WAS MADE AND SOLD AT THE MALIBU CHILI COOK OFF IN 2011, WHERE A CHILI MADE FROM A BASE OF MALIBU COWBOY WON 2ND PLACE. HERE, THE LOCALS REJOICED AT THE CONTINUATION OF THE TRADITION, AND EVEN THE LOCAL CELEBRITIES HAD THE CHANCE TO JOIN IN.
